July Sales Statistics

U.S. auto sales increase 1.5% in July
U.S. new vehicle sales of 1,395,816 units for the month of July represented an increase of 7.7% from June and a 1.5% increase from July 2018.
July’s passenger car sales fell 9.2% to 398,546 units, while SUV and truck sales increased 6.5% to 997,270 units.
July had an overall SAAR of 16.89 million units compared to 17.01 million units in July 2018.
There were 25 selling days in July 2019, one more than in July 2018.
General Motors sales increased 6.8%, while Ford sales were flat, and FCA sales fell 1.4% in July.
Tesla’s estimated 12,800 sales in July were down 12.9% from the same month in 2018.
Among Japanese companies, Toyota, Honda, and Subaru sales increased 0.2%, 1.9%, and 7.9%, respectively, while Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Mazda sales decreased 9.1%, 13.4% and 3.5%, respectively.
Hyundai/Genesis sales increased 13.9% from last July, while Kia sales increased 0.6%.
Among German companies, Daimler AG increased 19.5%, and VW Group sales increased 1.8%, while BMW Group slid 1.7% compared to July 2018.
Volvo sales increased 2.0% and Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 4.8% from last July.
July’s top ten selling vehicles, in order, were the Ford F-Series, Ram 1500-3500, Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Equinox, Toyota Camry, and Nissan Rogue.

Incentives in July 2019
