DEALER REBATES (INCENTIVES)
Consumers are unaware that manufacturers give rebates (incentives) direct to dealers. These rebates are not advertised and for that reason it should be a question that a shopper inquires about during the buying process.
- Dealers receive these rebates on models designated by the manufacturer but only after the vehicle is sold.
- The rebates do have expiration dates and vehicles sold after the expiration do not qualify for the rebate.
- Dealers, in some instances, have the option of keeping the full amount of the rebate or sharing with the consumer. This is a decision made by the dealer.
- Always ask the dealer representative about any “dealer rebates” on the model you are purchasing. Since these rebates change frequently as inventory is reduced, it is difficult to track from a consumer’s point.
- Previously year models or, in some cases, models that are 2 years old could offer attractive pricing through rebates.
- Since manufacturers can offer dealer rebates by region and for limited time periods, it is difficult to maintain a fully accurate and current posting of information on this site. For those reasons you are encouraged to ask the dealer.
